Has Battlefield 6 really returned to the classic Battlefield core? NO!

Firstly, I am delighted to have participated in the beta testing of Battlefield 6. As a child who started playing Battlefield 1942 and later Battlefield 2 BC2、BF3。 From pre ordering BF4, BF1, BF5, to the final B-test of Battlefield 2042, I was greatly disappointed.
As a loyal fan of the Battlefield series, we are not very satisfied with the current state of the game's beta testing. What we want is a classic Battlefield, not a COD based Battlefield game made to cater to others.
The core of the Battlefield series has always been the atmosphere of a large battlefield created by vehicles, which are not designed for infantry combat services. I don't understand why Dice keeps saying they want to return to the classic battlefield, but the current beta testing seems more like a gimmick and completely makes old players give up their fantasy of returning to the classic battlefield kernel. The vehicle used in this beta test has extremely heavy aerial control, and the six high dispersion magazine guns of the self-propelled anti-aircraft gun are even more humorous than missiles that are not as good as Stinger. Due to the narrowness of the map and the fixed route, ground vehicles must rely on welding to play. I once tested using the C4 car gameplay commonly played in BF3/4, but due to the fixed vehicles on the route, it was difficult to reach the target. At the same time, the sight of tanks is also very inconvenient. This generation of sight is not as capable of providing distance ratio comparison for players as BF3/4. In Battlefield 4, by comparing the size of the aiming circle with the enemy tank, I can basically achieve long-range gun lifting and first hit. Just at present, the small size of the map has not exposed the drawbacks of the crosshair. I can't imagine how torturous the tank crosshair would be in the replica of the "Frontline Storm" map.
Regarding the balance of vehicles, the core of the classic battlefield is vehicle control. The first thing every new player learned when entering the game was to learn how to use vehicles to counter the opponent's vehicles. DICE can apply the logic of Battlefield 4 and use a complete "vehicle food chain" to balance vehicles. In Battlefield 4, anti-aircraft guns equipped with active radar shells can keep the opposing aerial vehicles from crossing half the field, and they lack ground capabilities, making it impossible to deal with tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. But tanks and infantry fighting vehicles are difficult to pose a threat to fixed wings and straight weapons.
I don't understand why we need to attract infantry players by manipulating and weakening the vehicle's capabilities? Why can't we return to the vehicle control and capabilities of Battlefield 4, so that new players can easily get started with the vehicles? My helicopter and fixed wing skills are not very good, but I can still comfortably use these vehicles to perform good movements in Battlefield 4. However, in today's testing, I feel that I cannot handle these aerial vehicles at all.
The summary of the COD transformation of infantry warfare has been analyzed in detail in the Bilibili blogger's video in the CN community. If interested, players and dice staff can go and translate and take a look at what he said. I believe that veteran players of the Battlefield series must have a deep understanding of these negative changes in infantry battles. https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1YUtHzTENi/?share_source=copy_web&vd_source=c3876d93aaa74a1b63da4173fccf9300

We don't want to play COD, we want to play our most classic Battlefield series.

Agree on most points but still kinda happy, that is not as bad as I thought it’s gonna be.

Anyways, devs should spend some hours in BF3 and BF4 to really understand the experience since the original DICE devs left the office.

  • Gotta say although this game is fun in places, I have to agree with your points on the vehicles. The whole reason I dropped COD during BF3 & 4 days was because I could finally contribute to my team in an FPS where vehicles took more of a centre stage. I didn't have to worry about how good I was as infantry. I could rain down fire from the AH-1Z Viper or roll in with my squad in a tank convoy. It does feel like vehicles have just been added on rather than woven into the fabric of Battlefield 6.

They are not passionate about the game, and it shows. They are not interested in what Battlefield vets want, they want a revenue stream, they want the player base from Fortnite, COD and Apex, so they have to change it to make it appealing to those kinds of players. This game is "Battlefield" in name only.
