Map design.

Whilst I've so far enjoyed the beta, the map designs are a little disappointing. In my opinion the maps are far to open.  Not in the 'you can see miles' way, but the fact that there is seemingly nowhere where you can even attempt to hunker down - no not camp, and defend a flag/zone. Every room seemingly has multiple entry/exits and every location you can be flanked from multiple directions. The maps, so far have been the bad old days of the capture, run to the next. Capture and move on. Rinse and repeat. Even if you want to sit and defend a flag, there is nowhere to do it.

Of course we have the usual issues of visibility and telling teams apart at times and the nigh on impossibility of identifying classes. As for classes, the weapons need to be locked, or at the very least lock LMGs to support, AR to Assault, Snipers to Snipers and maybe carbines to Engineers. Happy for DMRs and PDWs to be used by all if they must.

First impressions are half decent, just the game seemingly just promotes run and gun rather than being able to mix up play styles.

yeah. the snowy map (ridge peak or sth what was it??) is little better than the other two abominations. but still, all three maps of the beta sucks so bad. they should just pick the best maps from bfbc2 bf3 and bf4 and remake them

"okay guys were gonna put tanks and ifvs to urban area that streets are not even two cars width, enjoy your vehicles!"

The issue isn't even just the openness, it's the lack of controllable openness. Let's take Bad Company 2 for example. You could destroy absolutely everything, so you could say it was very similar in that enemies could enter from any location. The difference is that if that happened, you could absolutely level certain areas and create open sightlines from which you could fight and defend the area.

With the current map design, they're simultaneously too open in that enemies can come around any corner and there's no true chokepoints you can set up and defend, but also, not open enough, in the sense that if you could destroy and open them up more than they are, you could actually have an open line of sight where you can lay down fire.

The issue specifically is that in previous battlefield games, if you had teammates present in a general area, you could know with vague confidence that unless someone is an absolute G they couldn't sneak through your teammates and get behind you without you noticing. They'd have to win via fire superiority or through actually clever flanks. In the maps as currently designed, the presence of your teammates behind you has absolutely no relevancy on where enemies can come from. The enemy could be trying to just run into your friendlies, and because there are so many winding routes to every objective, they could still miss them by complete accident.

  • The map so small , the vehicle menu so bad same 2042 aircrafts driving is boring , everything is trash that because call of duty play way
