My feedback from a LONGTIME Battlefield fan.

After playing the beta, I have to say it was a good return to form. Combat felt good. The immersion, detail, sound design, and destruction are great. The classes feel like they should in a Battlefield game. With that said, there is ALWAYS room for improvement. Here is what I noticed, and think the community would like to be adjusted, added, or fixed.

  1. Dual primary weapons on the Assualt class is overpowered. Bring it back to just one primary, and one secondary. Give Assualt one more magazine for the class specific weapon instead. One more would add to the Assualt class's role as a frontline Soldier, while still needing to be resupply.
  2. Helicopter needs more tweaking. After getting the controller settings remapped (BF4 legacy controls for controller) the maneuverablity is slow. Increase the yaw rate so the yaw turn rate makes it turn faster. This will increase the maneuverability and make it feel snappier.
  3. Engineers need to chose ONE launcher. Not have BOTH Stingers and an RPG. They must chose one or the other. This makes for more strategic decisions when deploying, and give both tanks and aircraft a little longer to survive.
  4. Shotgun. While some are calling for a complete nerf, I would say my first point will help in balancing the most. If you decrease the damage produced from the shotgun, do it at a range over 10m. Keep the potential of one shot kill within the 10m range and increase the spread after that. Have it completely drop off at 30m. Shotguns should be devastating close up, but ineffective at long range.
  5. Remove the sweet spot mechanic to snipers. Only a headshot should be a one shot kill at distance. It increases the challage. As such, adds to the reward and satisfaction of that kill. The sweet spot mechanic feels like a lucky shot, and is very annoying to die to. At least if I get hit in the head, I can congratulate the sniper for a well place and well played shot.
  6. While I'm sure there are more variety in the large to small maps, we need to keep the player base engaged for years to come. If you can have a minimum of two new, and one remastered Battlefield map per season (there are so many to chose from BF1942 through BF5) it will make Battlefield the top shooter for years to come. I know I would pay to have all of the maps from BF1942, BF Vietnam, BF2, Bad Company 1 and 2, BF 3, BF4. Especially because some of those games are no longer available to play anymore. A Battlefield remaster for Portal is what most of us were hoping in Portal 1.0 and thought we would get based on the 2042 Portal reveal. That would make Portal a huge success in my opinion. Here is to hoping Portal 2.0 can provide that.

I hope the development team and leaders can make some of this happen. Congratulations on a successful beta test so far.
