Open Beta Feedback

Hey guys, great work on the game so far. But it's missing a few features present in some of the other Battlefields, which I really miss, plus some QOL improvements I've thought about.

1. I'm a controller player and I like to rebind jump to L1, and keep ping on R1. This involves a good amount of rebinding which is no issue, but the only function for the secondary button press for the squad abilities mechanic is *tied* to the grenade function. This led to all sorts of problems, I threw grenades when trying to mount cover, I threw grenades when trying to melee enemies (I tried to map squad ability to R1+○), all sorts of mishaps. I think all it takes is setting the secondary button press (primary being the comms / ping button) as its own function in the keybinds section.

2. Tiered reloads! Sorely missing. It would take a while for each weapon animation but separating reloads into ejecting, reloading, and chambering would make it much more immersive and would add more options for maneuverability.

3. Sometimes it felt that there was missing theme music during matches, notably at the end, it was a nice way to let the player know the match was coming to an end. But in other matches it was present.

4. No overtime in Rush? One match I played had the game end when we ran out of tickets even though one of the MCOMs was armed. Come on!

5. I've noticed there isnt a compass, neither at the top of the HUD nor directional markings on the mini-map. Playing with friends isn't much fun if you cant call out directions

4. I really miss the camera swooping in from the spawn screen and orienting the player directionally. Not only was it really cool but it was really useful to understand the maps. This is a much larger implementation but one that I hope comes out someday, the swooping-in spawn animation became one of my favorite mechanics in the series.

5. Long shot here but it would be awesome if there were vehicle seat animations. Fully rendered interiors would be the dream, but hopping in and out animations as well as switching seat animations would build lots of immersion.

6. The vehicles in general are a bit too simplistic. I dont like that the tank only has 1 turret and the rest of the seats are passengers. They also feel lighter than they should. I'm a bit less specific here because I'm not sure I like the direction vehicles have taken since BF1 / BF5. It feels too arcadey and COD-like when the infantry gameplay feels so tangible and sensory.

7. Finally, this one isn't essential but the menu screens with NPCs just sitting around are tired and familiar at this point. There are so many cool, in-engine moments that can be showcased in slow motion. NPCs maintaining their gear, loading up for transport, reading letters, showering, loading magazines, stuff they would be doing in between matches. Or just slow-motion camera angles of battle destruction. Something to match the excitement of the menu music (which is fire)

8. This will probably come with full release but more things to do in the menus while queuing. I'm looking forward to the customization and management parts of the game. Also, the queue has been cut off for no reason while customizing my weapons. Not good.

9. I really miss the parachuting mechanics from 2042, which were perfect. Being able to fire your weapon with reduced mobility, and also grab your parachute handles for increased mobility, felt perfect and gave plenty of options when dropping.

10. Lastly, I really hope there's a battle royale or extraction mode coming. I might be one of the only ones saying this lmao, but I really think they would play really well with this foundation.

11. In addition, future expansions should ABSOLUTELY bring back carrier assault or titan mode. I know my friends and I really miss the behemoths too. Overall, I think one of the most enjoyable parts of battlefield is FPS action happening in and around massive, destructible structures. So those modes and really anything like them would be welcome additions.

Thanks for reading, and good luck with the launch!
