The fact that sniper players in the beta chose assault over recon is a clear indication of assault's overwpower. Furthermore, recon class not have spawn beacon. Assault class is very strong, recon is the opposite, very weak.
Recon has one niche, and it's semi-passive minimap spotting. And somewhat passive 3D spotting. Which helps a lot when rushing points. Here's the problem: when rushing points. Recon's default weapon does not support his preferred range and playstyle (suggested by gadgets) at all, making the entire class clunky as hell.
Quite honestly, Recon should just specialise in SMGs or Carbines, since these are the best weapons for the beta playstyles.
