Remove Autoaim for controllers ( PC & Console ) please

Dear Battlefield 6 Team,

Even though I have little hope that anyone with influence will read this post, I still want to try.

It bothers me enormously that any kind of "auto-aim" exists in a game like Battlefield, as it completely destroys the challenge of competing with others for me. Running, positioning, seeing, shooting, and especially hitting.
First of all, I don't want to start a discussion about consoles or PCs, everyone is welcome, but I see no reason to favor someone just because they use a controller (this is a personal choice and one should live with the result, with all its pros and cons). I looked at the auto-aim on the PC (I'm a pure PC player myself) and I have to say, it's really shocking how strong it is. It has nothing to do with skill anymore; you run in one direction and press fire, it's not really necessary to aim precisely at anything, the software regulates it quite strongly. Of course, you have to aim roughly in the right direction, but that's not a lot of "skill".

I have no idea what prompted you to do this. Did you want the streamers to shine and make Battlefield look good? Do you know that many "pros" use software to make themselves look better anyway? Do you believe or see that many players play on PC with a controller as well and want to better the support for these particular people? Whatever the reason is/was, please remove auto-aim completely for everyone (PC & console) and leave the game to the player, not to a piece of software.
Currently, many are also calling for "nerfs" for the shotgun and other weapons and attachments. I think if you remove auto-aim completely, this problem will also be solved relatively quickly, because far fewer people will be hitting their shots ;-).

Otherwise, it now looks and feels very much like a Battlefield again and is also technically very solid, finally a ray of hope again.

Probally let us an option to select if we want to compete with players which uses this aim assist. Or even not!

At least you can still give keyboard and mouse users also those form of help.

You can't bring competetive with one input help, while others wont. Skill Issue or not! When i see people able to log on people through smoke or bushes... which should able to block line of sight. But it is and will be unfair!

Its like bringing anti Cheat but at the same time bring cheat software for controller input... duh... it really messes my battlefield experience.

And i may say, i was on battlefield since BF1942.

  • i bet you never played with a controller... a controller is a handicap compared to mouse and keyboard.... the "aim assist" doesnt go for the head.

It just slows your aiming down and let you stay a bit on target.

it does nothing else. i reduced the aim assist to make it playable becuse its just anoying if you get pulled to an enemy and instantly slow down and if you leave the aim assist box you will overshoot because the input gets fast again...

you complain as if a ferrary driver would complain about a dacia who overtake you becaus you where parking somewhere

" Whatever the reason is/was, please remove auto-aim completely for everyone (PC & console) and leave the game to the player, not to a piece of software. " It should always be the skill, that ensures the kill, nothing else.

If you do not trust me, feel free to search on Youtube, the auto-aim is crazy ( not only in BF ) and even pros are switching to the controller solution, because the auto-aim is that hard and beneficial. The auto-aim for the controllers in all the shooters have been set higher and higher, that shouldn't be normal.

"but I see no reason to favor someone just because they use a controller (this is a personal choice and one should live with the result, with all its pros and cons)."

There is one problem: Battlefield is not CoD, which is all about face-to-face combat.
Here, positioning matters, blending into the background, remaining unnoticed, just like on a battlefield, but these things are dead since cross-play was introduced, because the console world worked differently.
The existence of auto-aim helps console players shoot anyone at all, but on the other hand, all the variation in the game has disappeared, you can no longer sneak behind enemy lines, lie in the bushes, etc., because auto-aim detects people that the human eye cannot see.
This has taken all the fun out of playing BF2048 for me, when someone can see you all the time, even when they shouldn't be able to.
