Spatial Audio Design Is Terrible!

The sound design feels muffled and lifeless. Directional audio is unreliable footsteps non existent, gunfire not punchy, and other key sounds lack clarity and can’t be trusted to indicate where they’re coming from, even when using high quality headphones. This constant muddiness leads to audio fatigue, wearing you down the longer you play.

As a medic main, the audio feedback for defibrillator revives is especially disappointing. Successful revives lack a clear, satisfying sound cue, often forcing me to double check whether I actually revived someone. It kills gameplay flow!

Good sound design is critical in a game like this. It’s not just about immersion, it’s a gameplay tool. Clear, accurate audio lets players track enemy movement, respond to threats, and coordinate with their team. In shooters, it can mean the difference between winning and losing an engagement. When the soundscape is muddy and unclear, players lose that edge, making the game more frustrating and less enjoyable.

Yeah, sound is horrible. Can't hear enemy footsteps (but I can hear my squadmates' loud as hell) and can't even hear enemy tanks that are right next to me. Same problems as BF5 and that's why I quit playing that game. Can't comment on 2042 cause I obviously avoided that dogwater lol.
