Тechnically I would like the "Q" button to have only a spot function, all other functions of the convenient "Q" button on the keyboard only cause irritation, Is it really impossible to be able to turn off and select these separate functions as needed on the "Q" button
Agreed. Spot and Ping should be two separate keys _if_ they player wants.
Also, what the heck was double-Q on an enemy doing? It made gave the spotting diamond an outline just like when you ping a friendly kit, supply pack, vehicle, etc and it seemed to add the list of dots alongside like you can on an objective as a squad leader? Was it letting other squad leaders know you had seen them, like with the objectives? I never saw an enemy with more than one spot filled, though, so... who knows.
