Support class Not supporting 👎
We've all experienced being downed in a Battlefield game and having a Medic not reviving you but would rather heal themselves and use your body as cover. So far my experience with Support (Medic) class is as usal.
***Edit: Ammo crates will only refill ammo for Primary, Secondary weapons and grenades. Gaggets wont be refilled. Nobody wants RPG spamming! 👍
Support players I've experience so far,
50% will not revive you, 20% would only heal themselves and not support their team, 30% players actually know how to play this class and using smoke to get to falling teammates and supplying teammates with ammo and medpacks.
Engineer
At this point the Engineer class does more support in the game than the Support class at least thats what i feel. I've actively seen Engineers heal tanks and throw smoke down for cover while having a great offence at taken out tanks with the RPG. If they could throw down ammo crates I feel it would bring more balance to the class. 2 classes for defence Engineer (ammo) and Support (medpacks) 2 classes for offence Assault (fight up close) and Recon (fight long range)
Resources
Having only one class out of the 4 that can throw down Resources feels really unbalanced. I'm sure BF veterans are used to this as this was the way Support played in previous BF games but I do miss having 2 classes that can provide resources to their team. Now that the support has both Ammo and Medpacks it feels like their is less resources on the map for palyers. Ammo crates had a great trade off. It would resupply teammates ammo but if the crate was shot at it would explode causing harm to anyone around the crate so player would have to be carful. As I stated above most Support class don't even throw down the packs that have both Ammo and Medpacks, I've barely even see it happen during any games I've played and I'm sure if they do then they do so for themselves rather than as a support role.
Snipers
The biggest problem I've seen was during Breakthrough gametypes. I'm all for the open weapon system that allows any class to use any weapons but to have most of the enemy team using Snipers and as a Support class! The entire team was just sniping from a far pinning us down and there was nothing we could do because they could heal and resupply their ammo the whole match. I'm all for ideas like the open weapon system but it has to be balanced and this was just aawful. They could just block the support class with the Snipers and DMR but I'm sure people would just complain.
Medpack and Ammo
I would really like for these to be separated. I think that this would be more balanced and could work with the open weapon system. I want the Engineer class to be able to drop ammo and for the Support to drop down only Medpacks. This would give teammates more resources on the map and give the Engineer a more fitting role as well as the Support to be more Medic focused.
