Tanks are fine when parked on a hill far enough away from points with 2 engi repairing it.
I like having no-splash main gun by default; splash damage should be a trade off(such as lower muzzle velocity and/or lower armor damage). If you want anti-infantry, you should ask for more co-ax buff. (the issue seems to be lack of suppression as usual, because people who got outpositioned cry about not being able to shoot back)
Believe it or not "infantry support" while being near infantry is not really a thing in more realistic games. (or rather it's just not happening with typical uncoordinated pubs). If you have the range(and you do with tank) why go near enemy to get shot more?
