Too small maps, too fast gameplay, core Battlefield is lost

The Beta was enough to captivate me for three hours. After that I realized I really don't like the game. It's unmemorable slop.

Battlefield's core is not in reflex shooters. It's in squad based gameplay with some actual tactics involved. This is entirely lost.

The maps are several magnitudes too small. You can't really flank comfortably. The time to kill is unrealistic for most weapon types. The vehicles act and move like in a cartoon, and they push around players like dominoes on the map.

But the worst thing is, there's no apparent downside to dying anymore. So almost every player just yoloes in, does his 5-10 shots and dies. Why even bother playing well, when you can respawn in less than 10 seconds with no punishment for playing bad.

This all makes me wonder why would I bother killing anyone, or why would I bother taking an objective, because neither gives me any worthwhile benefit. It's just brainless run & gun now.

The core gameplay loop simply isn't Battlefield, and it isn't enjoyable past 3 hours. I have no idea why anyone would pay for this game, but I would like to thank the EA for the chance to see the game sucks before paying for it. 👍

  • Like you say, it's fun,... for a while... Maps are too cramped and narrow, too many players for the size of the maps and the layout, too many bottlenecks, vehicle play is horrible because of this, respawn is too fast, too chaotic, too fast paced overal.

These are things that look cool in trailers and reveal events, but there's no long term fun in this. I predict a significant drop in player count after a few weeks.

I think i may have had all the fun there is to be had with this game after the open beta. I see no point in buying this at the moment...

what are you smoking? even battlefield 3 was a run and gun reflex shooter with explosions going off everywhere. the movement may not have been as fast as bf6, but it has never been near what you describe. maybe you are thinking of Arma or Squad, or Project Reality which is a bf2 mod.

  • There is something about how the game flows that I do not really like. As far as the character models are concerned, one of the biggest things right now is that they are very difficult to spot at distance and they blend in well with the surroundings. I am literally having a hard time seeing anything. Furthermore, I am not a fan of this outbound nonsense. There are snipers in the spawn that are killing us from within the spawn and we cannot flank them in order to get to them. If this is nonsense, it should only be allowed to kill someone inside the map that is completely open, and not outside of it

Improve the characters that make easier to see them improve game alot for me.

The character movement should be slower so that it doesn't seem like it's a battlefield in a hurry. It would improve the gunfights in the game.

This good game was brought down by the map design, out of bounds nonsense, and characters that were hard to see in the game.

If game stays like I doubt i buy it.
