TTK Time to kill

Ttk thing. Idk why battlefield comes out and there's a new word that comes with it like net code. Time to kill is supposed to refer to how long it takes to kill a player but gets distorted because of damage drop off, hitting placement, recoil, and other bs recoil affiliated gun controls, hackers and bots and yes net code which is a conglomerate of everything going on in the game, your lag and the game trying to "balance" low latency with high latency players.

First the bullets are weak, for assault/carbine guns 5-7 shots for a body kill at the furthest target in the range maybe 80m I'm assuming it continues to drop off from there meaning more shots. Before damage starts to fall off you can kill a player with 4-5 shots this is with assault guns. This means someone with perfect aim can kill 6-7 people up close and 4-6 from 30-80m with one mag. a player can be expected to get half to a quarter of those up close and maybe half to none from 30-80m. Of course I'm just blindly guessing here from my own experience and control but if you add in hesitation, being overwhelmed by the enemy, recoil, distance, whether your hurt or not can all drastically change those numbers.

Recoil is a huge distorted factor because there's what we know and what we don't know. The gun/camera shake so we fix the red dot to be on your target as much as possible but then you get another recoil effect where the bullet is not going into the direction of the dot. The one I noticed that heavily does this is the LMG when you're not mounted but once you mount the gun it's severely reduced. In most games if you take off the bipod and put a foregrip it will also reduce it but I didn't try it. I say it's a recoil effect but it's an added gameplay mechanic.

Lag/net code. Why while you may think you shot at the same time or you shot first because of the latency the other player was ahead of you in time. Meaning by the time you perceived taking damage the server saw you take 2-3 shots already and it looks like your dieing in 1-3 shots. There's also the fact that developers want to try and balance high latency players and low latency players to even the battlefield but in my opinion makes things worse for those who wouldn't have any problems if the devs didn't do anything. Let's not forget about peekers advantage and other network solutions to "encourage" a different play style. All while having to process the entire game: interactions, destruction, positioning of people and bullets. An overstressed server can absolutely affect the gameplay

Bots and hackers. While I don't have to explain too much about their laser accuracy and knowing your position, the issue is after suffering from all those other issues and you get a bs moment. It's just putting salt on the wound, even more so when it's coming from devs (bots)

There's a few possibilities... either the servers/tickrate are bad at damage calculation, or its designed intentionally to be random.

I'm hoping this gets fixed because the hitreg/damage is the only thing holding this game back from being fantastic. Makes no sense how you're shooting someone and see 10 hitmarkers while you continue to shoot them and they turn around and kill you in what seems like a couple of shots, nobody wants that kind of crap gameplay.

This has been an issue in battlefield games for a long time and they need to fix this crap. This is a known issue that I think they intentionally implemented in the hitreg in previous battlefield games I think. I know I saw/read something about that at some point.

WHY do this???? Please remove this crap and calculate each shot normally with the damage of the gun or get better servers, or delay your game if you don't know how to fix this. That's my 2 cents, thank you for reading.

Kick people with high ping, problem solved.

  • I really hope they fix this problem because, although I would like to play, I'm not going to buy it until it's resolved. Paying $70 for a horrible experience due to poor netcode or whatever is causing this doesn't make much sense.

  • Yeah TTK is very long, to kill a man you need to waste half or entire magazine. It’s a big problem really
