Re: Will BF6 for Consoles Have Keyboard & Mouse Support?
While playing Battlefield 6 Open Beta on PS5 with a mouse and keyboard, I encountered a serious issue with horizontal mouse movement.
When moving the mouse quickly, especially when reversing direction (e.g., moving right and then flicking quickly to the left), the camera momentarily fails to respond correctly. Instead of immediately turning left, it briefly resists movement and even snaps slightly in the opposite direction before correcting itself.
This issue does not occur with slow, steady mouse movement — only with fast, abrupt flicks. The problem is most noticeable in close-quarters combat, where quick aim adjustments are crucial.
I hope this can be addressed before the official release, as it significantly affects aiming precision for mouse and keyboard players on PS5.
I consistently experience this issue with mouse and keyboard on my PS5 Pro, as well. I considered that my mouse could be the issue, but tested this on CoD Black ops 6 and didn't experience the same issue with quick movements, at all.

Great feedback! Mouse input has been broken in Battlefield for 10 years.
The game engine has trouble polling the mouse. For example sometimes the game engine will poll the mouse at 1,000Hz. Then it will poll the mouse at 200Hz.
The result of inconsistent mouse polling is mouse stutter, which makes the game feel like it has a low framerate.
On PS5 it sounds like the game engine is bundling a bunch of polled mouse inputs together into a single polling event. Resulting in a slingshot/mouse acceleration effect.
Mouse input was first broken in Battlefield 1. It's also broken in Battlefield V. DICE tried to fix the broken mouse polling problem in Battlefield 2042. Now mouse polling appears to be broken in Battlefield 6 as well.
Meanwhile controller gameplay is buttery smooth in all Battlefield games.
I have a feeling a Frostbite game engine engineer broke mouse input in Battlefield 1 and DICE has never been able to fix it because the Frostbite team and DICE team are two separate teams.
Team DICE would need to convince Team Frostbite that there's a problem with mouse input. Then convince Team Frostbite to rewrite that section of the game engine source code to fix it. Good luck with that!
I have a feeling that's why Battlefield mouse input has been broken for 10 years and counting.
