Drakofenyxx It’s a requirement to play the Open Beta. For guidance about Secure Boot, head over to our EA Help article.

Joke of a requirement. Should NOT be required for a video game

Lexaaaaaaaaa Thank you for the feedback about this, but unfortunately, there's nothing that can be changed about this at this moment.

and when I have it turned on, the same error keeps popping up ?

Good to know I won't be purchasing the game, I'm not bricking my dual boot system (As the game isn't allowed to run on Linux either). Will the next anti-cheat update require approved hardware by EA in order to run the game? Maybe force players to hire a EA approved referee to make sure the players are not cheating.

Guess i'll be playing on my xbox instead. Not willing to brick my motherboard for this

Just finding out about this requirement. I have never had to enable secure boot to play a video game and I don't want to risk my computer. This really sucks

Please tell me what motherboard you have and cpu.And what the version of bios are you on .

It's absurd, there is zero evidence this does anything to prevent cheating, certainly didn't with 2042 when you tried to force it on players.
I won't be purchasing, as I'm sure many others won't either. EA levels of laziness and shoving the issue onto the player instead of creating an intelligent server-side solution (THE ONLY TRUE SOLUTION FOR CHEATING) is idiotic, but not surprising given it's EA.
Tell your dudes up the ladder they are screwing the pooch.

I just preloaded open beta. Now reading all this and that I need to change my BIOS settings jeopardizing stability of my system I made a conclusion that BF6 is a pass. Good job EA. Such requirements are in my experience unprecedented and no game I played ever required this. This is absurd.

After speading 2 hours yesterday trying to change the bios on my system due to your dire requirements are you going to pay to repair bill and replacement parts for everyone short answer is no. Not for a 60 pound game i was really looking forward for this but now I have uninstall the beta and buying something else
Thanks

This can't be real. I've never had to change a BIOS setting for a game. Are they working on fixing this before early access tomorrow? Thanks

Did you play Call of Duty?!..Think again they put today a info that to play the new session you need also Secure Boot and TPM 2.0...and also Microsoft put info that you need this also for the future of Windows...so dont blame EA

I have been playing video games all my life. Now, thanks to Secure Boot, I'm not.
- VipeNess20 days agoRising Adventurer
Please DO NOT disable the secure boot feature. I'm tired of encountering cheaters in a game I've (will be) investing significant money into.
- nordicjew20 days agoNew Novice
Needs to be disabled. It doesnt stop cheaters at all in any way shape or form. If you think it does, youre brainwashed.
- 1corex120 days agoRising Novice
yeap i play cod without secure boot and TMP 2... blame in place.
- calmhavoc20 days agoSeasoned Newcomer
came here to echo this as well. anyone even marginally competent with computer systems will know that secure boot will not impact hackers/cheaters in any meaningful way. the hope for this game was seriously the last thing keeping me from going straight *Nix (currently dual booted with popos). I blame M$ way more than EA but I don't know what kind of deal was in place to force this; IF the game turns out to be great maybe I'll get it for console in a few months (probably not though, current gen consoles kinda suck compared to PC).

Same issue. Secure boot is enabled, UEFI is enabled, and computer won't boot. Multiple PC sources and my Mothernboard manufacturer says that altering this can brick my hardware and/or cause date loss. Why is this a requirement!?
