EA Moderators on Steam

Steam discussion boards are not the best place to have actual discussions as they quickly lose the reason someone is discussing a point. I too have been banned when talking about soldier gender and reporting troll "representation" threads. As an Army veteran, I would LOVE it if we went back to the BF3 soldier call outs during a gunfight. Yeah, you know which ones I am talking about.

If you still want to support the game, cancel with Steam and then go to the EA app (or any other major distributor) and pre-order there. I doubt anyone from the official BF forums is going to go ask to unban your Steam ban. Steam forums are the worst and moderated by god knows who. It's just toxic all around.

Also, the beta is over so they are probably not going to unban you for the sake of continued discussions there. Eventually those discussion boards will be wiped or removed before the launch. They have already removed pinned discussions from EA/DICE. You're wasting your time there. This is a much better place to share your thoughts and moderators are some extension of EA.

This is on the actual BF6 discussions, not the beta one. If it was the beta one, I wouldn’t care so much. 

I got banned for calling RileyCS a He instead of a She about their cheating video that has been circulating. It wasn’t Steam Support that banned me, it was EA’s moderators on Steam. I was told by Steam Support. I submitted a request on EA’s support to remove the ban. 

Since I didn’t break Steam’s Rules and Guidelines. EA’s moderators are biased and banned me due to their own personal feelings on the use of pronouns. Didn’t even give me a ban reason either, just straight up permanently banned me. 

The only reason I bought the game was because I had Steam Wallet funds. I requested the funds after my ban since it was unjustified and biased. 

Not sure if I want to support a game or company that doesn’t appreciate their legitimate customers but seems to support a cheating twitch streamer. 

or how about... and get this, a crazy take, one does not preorder a game at all? Because its been proven MANY MANY times to be objectively truly dumb thing to do. I know.. crazy, amirite ?

Honestly, I wouldn’t pre-order this game. I sold all my CS2 skins so that’s why. On a normal average day, I would never pre-order any game. 

If I do decide to support this game. I’ll be giving it a negative review on Steam due to their bad customer support, terrible Steam moderation and favouritism towards Twitch Streamers that cheat. 

I don't quite understand your logic. You said it was the EA Moderators on the Steam Discussion, therefore Steam itself doesn't have anything to do with your situation.  So why punish Steam? You said it yourself, why support the game company, which is EA.

Valve moderators also manage reports

games inside Steam are not exclusively moderated by EA, you can always try to overturn it, but if it was a Valve mod, you're more than likely out of luck

Who said I was punishing Steam? Not buying the game or leaving a negative review based on their community moderators on Steam, is punishing EA. Not Steam? Same with refunding the game. Where does this punish Steam?

It wasn't a Valve moderator. When you get banned on Steam Discussions. You get told if it was by Steam Support or a Forum Moderator. Forum Moderator usually means it's a moderator that was assigned by a game developer on Steam (or a developer). I've contacted support on Steam and they said to contact EA's support since it was done by their developer's moderation team.

With that said, we give developers control over their own community hub, including discussions and user-created content. As such, Steam support does not reverse developer decisions.

Contacted EA's Support (which is horrible by the way) and got the run around. No one seemed to know what to do or what I was talking about. Eventually it ended up being no action taken at this time. All because I didn't refer to someone the proper way. Seems pretty woke to me. So yes, games inside Steam are moderated by people who the developer's choose, or the developer's themselves. You shouldn't be a moderator if you're going to let your feelings get hurt over such trivial things. 

This decision feels really harsh. Honestly, until yesterday I didn’t even know the person is a she, because I usually just go by the voice. I only found out through someone else on the BF Discord. That’s also why I usually avoid posting on public forums—or when I do, I try to keep things as neutral as possible so I don’t upset anyone. But sometimes it still happens. I just don’t think a ban is fair over a single word.
