I can confirm I have had this rotating pattern appear randomly many times. Usually black, though green sometimes. Does go away after a bit. Object attached theory makes sense to me. Also have seen flashing green light at random. White light too
If it helps I'm playing on an RTX 4090 on the very latest drivers from Nvidia and an AMD 7800X3D

Hah! So I'm getting this on my 4090 system and not my 3080 system. Maybe driver issues with the 4090?
