Computer crashes from USB switch

I have a USB switch that I use to switch my mouse & keyboard between my work laptop and my gaming desktop. If I perform a switch in Battlefield 6, the mouse/keyboard don't seem to be recognized at all (no windows connect sound, no lights on keyboard) and the entire computer crashes. I've recorded this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPN44oh3qD4

Its important to note that this ONLY HAPPENS with Battlefield 6. I have used this setup for years now with no issues in any other software/game.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers, latest Windows 10 updates, latest bios/AMD Chipset firmware/USB firmware installed. Secure boot is enabled (otherwise game wouldn't even launch), and AMD EXPO is applied for the RAM.

Relevant specs below (I have also attached the CPU-Z printout):

  • RTX 5090 FE
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • 2x 32 GB 6000MHz (dont remember brand off the top of my head)
  • Gigabyte X870E Aurus Elite Wifi7 mobo

  • I'm running ryzen 5950x with 32GB DDR4 RAM and an 7800XT and im actually able to play the game for a few minutes until it crashes just like that. Power to my keyboard and mouse is cut but the pc is still on and I have to hard reboot. Frustrating. No issues with any other games. All drivers, chipsets drivers, bios, etc up to date.

Doesn't look like this is going to get acknowledged as an issue..
