Long live BOD6, Goodbye Battlefield

It's a great game, but it isn't Battlefield. Battlefield as we used to know it is definitely over. Enjoy whatever this is. I'm enjoying it myself. But, having "battlefield" in the name just reminds me I miss battlefield.

Let me put it this way... it'd be like if you were a huge fan of Spongebob Squarepants. But, they fired all the guys who created it and hired on the Adventure Time team and they completely changed it and turned it into Adventure Time Squarepants instead. You might like it, but it wouldn't really be Spongebob anymore.

It's kind of like when Rick & Morty tried to make an Anime series and forgot how to be funny.

Or, if Activision got corporate raided by another company, and they fired everyone and assigned the team that made Dead By Daylight to develop it. And, then they decided no one wants COD to be COD anymore, everyone wants a DBD clone and made it into a Dead By Duty. Sure, you might like it, but you'd be annoyed that it's no longer COD.

That's what happened here. We're playing Battle Of Doody 6.

And, I guess it's a bold move to alienate your longstanding userbase and basically tell them this is how it is now and get used to it, while chasing new tail. Probably going to work out for them. But, something is lost and it's a bit sad.

And, don't we already have a COD? Did we really need another one? Doesn't COD do COD better than COD? Battle Of Doody can never really live up to those kinds of expectations. They'll always just be chasing a taste of COD's greatness, long after they've lost their original fans.

But, we're getting old and so they figure better to chase a fresh market. It'll happen to you too though one day they're gonna f up something you love. Enjoy Dead By Duty or whatever manifestation it arrives in, when it comes.
