Mouse input stutters / jitters independent of framerate, controller fine

Hi, running into a weird issue where the mouse input stutters / jitters on a set interval.
Its not framerate related, can replicate it in the firing range at a constant 220fps capped (240hz monitor) with G-Sync & V-Sync on. It gives the perception of the game running at a much lower framerate than it actually is when aiming. Doesn't happen in older BF games.

The hitches don't happen with keyboard movement or when using a controller to aim, only mouse. Tried my Razer Viper V2 Pro, Razer Viper 8K & Xtrfy MZ1.
Feels similar to an issue CS2 had which was fixed in an SDL update around raw input mouse event buffering in chunks.
Happens in BF6 regardless of raw input on or off, Nvidia reflex on / off, vsync on / off, nvidia framelimiter, ingame framelimiter, tried a bunch of different settings.

Here's a video of the stutter recorded at 240fps in slow motion on my phone:

Here's a video of using an Xbox One S controller with its wireless dongle in the same game session with no settings changes:

Running latest Win 11, AMD 9800X3D, RTX 5090.

Yeah jeez yours looks completely broken. I get the sense that if they're running mouse input on a separate thread there's something causing it to stall every few frames, then spit back a chunk of movement for me, but it looks like its completely stalling for you, then just spitting everything out and stalling again. CS had an issue where high polling rate mice were saturating the SDL libraries they were using for i/o causing something similar, except it would stall the whole engine and cause framerate stutters too.

  • And i thought i was nuts....same problem, already tried so much in the settings...

  • I have a similar issue but quite a bit more severe. My mouse input freezes for 1/2 second and works for a 1/2 second on regular intervals perpetually. It happens even in the menu but the game's framerate is smooth and unaffected. Happened for me in BF2042 as well. Makes the game unplayable. Im using a Razr Death Adder and I'm on an Omen X2S laptop with a Win10, RTX2080, Intel Core i7-9750H and 32GB of RAM.
