QoL: Smaller caveats

Love BF6. However, I've seen some videos comparing BF6 to previous games in the series, Delta Force and Call of Duty. A lot of smaller details is certainly missing from BF6 compared to other titles. This is a current-gen game and the Frostbite Engine really should deliver improvements to all aspects of the game. I feel like you're missing the opportunity to really show how great BF6 can feel and look if you're leaving out certain details, like:

  1. Footprints - Would be cool to be able to track people running away from you following their footprints.
  2. Dirty and stained uniforms and weapons: When crawling through snow, grass, puddles, blood and debris it should affect the looks of the character, weapons and vehicles. Perhaps it does to some extent?
  3. Vegetation that reacts to the user: Grass and leaves that folds when the player advances.
  4. Water effects (?): I'd like to see a map with water; ocean, ponds, pools, puddles and rain.
  5. More physical objects that reacts to shooting, wind and blasts from explosions. Some objects just pop and goes away upon destruction. Some objects stay around on the map. Some objects that should easily break with just one bullet takes several bullets for the object to break; like jars. Clearly some adjusting needs to be done there, since the implementation exists already.
    1. Car windshields shouldn’t pop like the other windows on the car, since the windshields are laminated glass. Instead it should break like in real life. Immersion!
    2. Car tires should puncture with a single shot or knife stab; much like in Call of Duty - or blast if the force is higher. Currently multiple gun shoots need to be fired.
    3. Concrete blocks that could be damaged so that their reinforcement bars becomes visible.

Really? Of all the problems this game has, this is what bugs you? Seriously? hahahhahahha
I mean i liked the open beta and i think the game could really be good. But it still has issues, and by that I mean actual issues and not whatever this is what you wrote hahahahahha. But hey whatever tickles you pickle. Sure it would be nice if they added it at some point as a clear afterthought, but maybe you oughta point out ACTUAL problems you encountered in an attempt to help the devs aswell as yourself and all the players enjoy the game more.

  • I agree with Monkey. Whilst although it is always nice to imagine a game's immersion and realism, you have to also take into account how many resources they are already compacting into a game and making sure everyone's hardware can cope with its demands.

It doesn't mean they won't add these features, I remember the DLC for Battlefield 3 CQB where maps where close quarters and everything was destructible. However I do think at the moment there are more pressing issues with revives and respawns, map holes etc.

If you are comparing with Call of Duty, remember those lobbies are a lot smaller, no destruction and no dynamic maps - so they have more freedom with aesthetics. But even without the things you mentioned in your post, BF still retains the most immersion and realism from any FPS out there and that's down to its core fundamentals....and BF players themselves.
