Re: DirectX Error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

Hey everyone,

getting this error - new to gaming would appreciate some help if possible. I have tried various driver installs however, no luck.

DirectX Error

DirectX function "result" failed with

XDXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been

physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. "). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, Driver: 58088. D:\dev\TnT\Code\Packages\RenderCore2\RenderCore2\dev\so urce\platform\PcDx12\Swap Chain PcDx12.cpp. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers.DeviceRemoved Reason: S_OK ("No error occurred.")""

Any help?

I have the same one. Still trying to find a fix. It happens randomly as well.

The following steps I have already tried:

    • Updated graphics drivers (even did a clean install)
    • Updated other drivers that is related to AMD
    • Verified game files
    • Put graphics to balanced and low settings and made it performance level instead.
    • Run on Direct X 11
    • Deleted Battlefield 2042 folder and uninstalled the game too
    • Even updated Bios

Hopefully someone has a fix for this.

    try this method:

In-game settings : Screen space AO = DISABLED (This is precisely what finally fixed it)
Other in-game parameters that might have contributed : Any frame generation/upscaling related techs (FSR, DLSS, etc.) are disabled, motion blur options are disabled. No particular restriction on the other parameters.

Don't forget to verify the game files after the changing your settings. It usually detects 3 errors and I suspect doing this clears the cache of the game.

I was hoping for an update to the client and/or AMD Drivers before the next set of beta tests to see if this was fixed. Right now, its still b0rked. I've even done a full windows reset, and its still b0rked.

I uninstalled the game from the EA store and then installed in from the Steam store.  I was able to play through Steve for a day or two and I have now started getting the error again through the Steam install. :(
