Battlefield 6 Beta: Steam Version Connection Failed, EA app Works

Very much doubt that it has to do with maitenance, I am running into it since yesterday morning, whilst EA version works without a hitch
Something is now allowing Steam version to connect, I have seen a similar issue on Steam forums without resolution. seems like a wierd edge case

Yes, but this only happens on Steam for some reason. I downloaded the beta on the EA client and it works just fine.

Bingouse​ Hmm, very odd indeed. Are you sure that your EA account and Steam account are correctly linked?

I did suspect EA to Steam linking issue as 2042 wasnt listed on my list of games when I bought it on steam. I have relinked the account but bf6 beta never appeared with a Steam label in the EA app library. (dunno if it should)

Just to test I have installed 2042 via steam and it then appeared in EA Library as a Steam title. but in any case relinking the account did not fix the error. 

Im pretty sure they are. I was gonna try to relink but it said something about a 12 month waiting period for relinking accounts so I didn't do it

I have this issue as well. Steam overlay pops up to ask for authenticator for two-factor, but the overlay is non-response (I can't click on anything). So it fails and says you can't connect to server.

Is there a way to fix the non-responsive Steam Overlay?

yeah, I'm having the exact same issue. Seems like it's got something to do with linking your EA account to Steam. Funny thing is, if I download the game through the EA app, it works just fine but then it's a pain to play with friends. And of course, the QR code link they gave just leads to a dead page now Classic...

I even tried following some of the Battlefield 2042 troubleshooting guides, but no luck
