BF6: What do the red and yellow symbols mean in the weapon UI?

There’s been a lot of confusion in the community about the red and yellow symbols that appear in the weapon/class UI in Battlefield 6. Several Reddit threads have tried to figure it out, but so far, no one has provided a definitive answer:

What does this red symbol mean?

What are those red and yellow symbols in class editor?

What do the red and yellow symbols mean on the weapons?

I’ve shared these links multiple times on Discord, but haven’t received any response.

At this point, the most accurate answer seems to be: “It’s a mystery.”

Could someone from the dev team please clarify what these symbols represent?
