PS5 Overheats and Shuts Down During Battlefield 6 Open Beta

Platform: PS5 Pro
Game: Battlefield 6 Open Beta
Play Session: Today, approx. 21:00 to 00:20 (with breaks in between)
Console Condition: Well-ventilated, dust-free, no other performance issues in other games

Issue Description:
During gameplay, the PS5 suddenly emitted a continuous high-pitched tone (similar to an alarm). At the same time, the game completely froze and became unresponsive. Shortly after, the PS5 automatically shut down. There is no crash log or error report available from the PS5 after the shutdown.

I suspect this was caused by overheating, despite the console being clean, dust-free, and in a well-ventilated environment. This issue has not occurred with other games.

Impact:

Game freezes completely
Continuous high-pitched warning tone from console
Automatic shutdown of the PS5
No crash log generated
Request for Investigation:
This could represent a serious hardware risk. Please investigate the cause of this issue during the Battlefield 6 Open Beta.

    Same issue happened to me. I’ve also have had the same thing happen during my play sessions of Skate. System requires me to unplug it and plug it back in for it to properly turn back on and the AC adapter does feel hot so it could definitely be overheating. I’ve only ever had this happen with these 2 games and even when I’ve had my system on for 12+ hours (even playing games majority of that time) it’s never crashed like this.

    Are you running bf6 on performance mode or balance under the graphic settings? I was having the same issue where my ps5 would just shut off while playing bf6 on ps5. So I switched from performance mode to balance and haven't had a problem since

    Bro how do I do this? It’s cut my ps5 off three times now and I’m worried it’s going to do damage

    I m running on performance and i try balanced but still same problem just on this game

    Consistent issue across the board for multiple PS5 games. System overheats and shuts down to prevent damage, base PS5 is a fancy PS4 it can't run new games.

    That may be true – I also had to send in my PS5 Pro to Sony because I ran into issues with certain games. With the replacement console, however, I haven’t experienced any problems, even with titles that are known for generating a lot of heat. The beta also ran very stable for me.

    I do think, though, that BF6 developers rely heavily on feedback. After all, nobody wants to risk hardware damage. That’s why sharing experiences like these is important.
