Same issue happened to me. I’ve also have had the same thing happen during my play sessions of Skate. System requires me to unplug it and plug it back in for it to properly turn back on and the AC adapter does feel hot so it could definitely be overheating. I’ve only ever had this happen with these 2 games and even when I’ve had my system on for 12+ hours (even playing games majority of that time) it’s never crashed like this.

Consistent issue across the board for multiple PS5 games. System overheats and shuts down to prevent damage, base PS5 is a fancy PS4 it can't run new games.

That may be true – I also had to send in my PS5 Pro to Sony because I ran into issues with certain games. With the replacement console, however, I haven’t experienced any problems, even with titles that are known for generating a lot of heat. The beta also ran very stable for me.
I do think, though, that BF6 developers rely heavily on feedback. After all, nobody wants to risk hardware damage. That’s why sharing experiences like these is important.
