The last Battlefield game I remember that had offline mode with bots was BF2. It was great to explore the maps and practice flying helicopters and stuff. BF3 and 4 didn't have an offline mode; they had a proper singleplayer campaign instead. If you wanted to explore the online maps or practice something, you needed to join an empty server and mess around during the per-round/warm-up time.
I agree its something nice to have. But don't think we would see offline mods.
Only hope I have is Portal mode.
