Audio Feedback on Distant Gunfire Echo in BF6
Subject: Audio Feedback on Distant Gunfire Echo in BF6
Hello DICE Team,
I appreciate the War Tapes V.A.L. mode. However distant gunfire and explosions lack environmental echo compared to BF3. BF6 sounds accurate up close but dry at range.
In BF3 a tank firing 300m away had character. You heard the shot crack followed by boom bouncing off buildings. In BF6 distant sounds become flat muted pops. Early reflections and reverb seem cut off.
Real combat footage shows prolonged echoes. Games like Squad preserve this well. BF6 sounds clinical like a vacuum.
V.A.L. aims for documentary feel but lacks spatial depth. Distant explosions sound like clicks not threats. The Wet Dry Mix needs more Wet.
Suggestions:
1. Increase reverb send for Distant sources 200m and beyond.
2. Extend RT60 decay time for distant gunshots and explosions.
3. Reduce occlusion cutoff so echoes remain audible even when direct sound is muffled.
4. Preserve 200Hz-500Hz body in reverb tails so distant echoes have weight.
BF6 has great audio tech but mixing prioritizes clarity over space. With these changes you can achieve BF3 grandeur while keeping near-field clean.
Thank you.
