Battlebug6 review

Netcode and servers

  • Hit registration (hitreg) : 20% to 60% of client-side hits are not registered against console players, compared to 5% to 10% against PC players (often),
  • Ghost bullets : bullets simply vanish (no hit registered on either the client or the server side) (often),
  • Abnormal damage :
    • console players deal double damage (e.g. : two hits from an M320 or a sniper rifle with a single shot) (rarely),
    • high-ping players (150ms+) and console players land 4 to 6 hits in a single frame (often),
  • Desync :
    • taking damage half a second after getting behind cover (despite a 15ms ping) (often),
    • players seem to have high visual acceleration when switching from running forward to backpedaling (without sliding or jumping) to dodge shots, which is disruptive for tracking (rarely).

Input and gameplay bugs

  • Key inputs : forced to press the key 15 times to throw a grenade (the keyboard works perfectly) (often),
  • Input conflicts : character throws a medpack instead of shooting even though the weapon is in hand and left-click is active (rarely),
  • Post-revive bugs : keyboard and mouse inputs lock up (can't shoot, zoom but can jump, aim) sometimes requiring a full PC restart (rarely but too often),
  • Movement :
    • character gets stuck on a simple step, but vaults onto a table without player input (rarely),
    • penalty on jump peeks is too heavy compared to older BF titles like BF4/3, which excessively favors campers,

Performance and stability

  • FPS drops : random performance loss of around 70%, fixed only via Alt+Tab (character systematically holds a gadget instead of the weapon previously holds upon returning to the game) (often),
  • Recurring crashes : black screen when quitting a match and crash on launch (1/8 frequency).

Visibility and sound

  • Visibility : catastrophic, giving a clear advantage to campers and headglitchers (always),
  • Invisible equipment : grenades and claymores are often invisible or visually misplaced (always),
  • Incendiary grenades : actual area of effect is significantly wider than the visual flames (always),
  • Audio : improved, but footstep audio remains poor overall (always).
