Bf1 veteran thoughts on bf6
My previous post was removed with no explanation. I’m just trying to share my thoughts on bf6.
It is a severe downgrade from bf1. Please address the following issues
- no server browser*. We had the ability to filter by map, ping, etc now we are at the mercy of the black box matchmaking algorithm getting thrown into maps we don’t want to play
- graphics are a downgrade from bf1 graphics we had 10 years ago. You had the photogrammetry tech to make a photorealistic game why aren’t you using it for your new games?
- color palette is dull and gloomy, bf1 had bright sunny maps like fao fortress, Sinai, monte grappa. Bf1 just looked visually stunning and better in every way compared to a game coming out a decade later. Why?
- map/ui is confusing and a downgrade. Bf1 minimap had color coded mini map to distinguish between your character, squad and other team mates. Now everything is blue and your character is a random number based on your position in the squad (1,2,3,4) and it looks the exact same as your squad mates
- why am I being forced to play as a female soldier give us the option to choose characters
- can you record new female voice lines? The current ones are copy pasted from 2042, they are immersion breaking and make the game unplayable. It’s too high pitched, extremely irritating and makes the game feel like a non-serious kids game. Please give us the option to turn them off. You can hide it deep in the settings menu if you’re scared of some backlash that I assure you will not be substantial but instead you will sell a lot more of bf6, as myself and many other bf veterans will not be purchasing the game in its current state - without player choice
- where did the conquest flags go?
*I know portal will have a server browser but I need to turn off cross play and portal population will be small compared to the main game. We need a server browser for the main game.
All I see online is positive sentiment about this game from content creators. I don’t understand how the community isn’t screaming at the top of their lungs about how big of a downgrade this game is compared to bf1. Did people forget how good we had it because they haven’t played bf1 in so long?
I skipped bf5 and 2042 due to the same problems and I was hoping to finally get a good modern battlefield.
