I recommend people look into Ukrainian TCCC’s, women are represented on the very frontlines and can be seen and heard. There are many examples in very real, ongoing modern conflicts and shock horror, they’re in the exact same **bleep**ty situations as males. Stop using this as an excuse to wash women out of the game.
Yes, there should be an option to choose who you play as, but the presence of women is not “woke”. Do some research or touch grass.
I can guarantee you, the next “big one” for us comfy people will include us all, all shapes and sizes, in all of the **bleep**ty situations.
While this does occur in situations of absolute desperation, there isn't a single military force on the planet that is willingly putting women into front line combat situations. Women in front line combat maybe comprises 1% of the total fighting force on the entire planet. Women serve many important roles in even the highest levels of military operations, such as intelligence roles, ones which in many ways could be argued to have even worse risks than front line combat. But their presence is an absolute rarity on the front lines. That's not to say it's unreasonable to want to have them represented in a video game. But it's also not unreasonable for someone to say it interferes with their suspension of disbelief to see and hear women.
Again, just give people the choice for what they on an individual basis believe is appropriate for the setting of the game.
