Understood your POV (thanks for taking the time & opp. to explain). But you're being charitable or naively short-sighted:
if you will, scroll through the nearly 300 posts on this thread and you will find that the real issue cuts deeper than just 'sound assets': plenty of men here are having a vocal paroxysm at women being so much as depicted in the game.

Perhaps it has something to do with 2042 and how a lot of the specialists with the best gadgets and traits in their class were the ladies (Blasco, Paik, Liz, Falk). Overexposure.
In BF1 it was just some historically accurate Russian recons. In BFV people had a choice of the looks of their soldier.
During the beta of BF6, there was a lot of the "engineer, therefore a woman". This easily raises concerns about a lack of player choice.
