Cosmetics feedback
Hi everyone,
I made this board using 3D renders created by Growlor.media. The goal is to showcase some ideas that could help Battlefield's cosmetics maintain a more grounded and military-focused aesthetic while still fitting a live-service model.
From what I've seen across the community, many players aren't opposed to cosmetics or premium skins. Battlefield is a live-service game, and cosmetic sales are part of what keeps new content coming. The issue isn't that skins exist—it's that many of us were drawn to Battlefield because of its grounded military atmosphere, and we'd like to see that reflected more consistently in future cosmetic content.
Some of the things I'd love to see are:
-More realistic military gear, camouflage patterns, and color palettes.
-More face-covering options such as helmets, balaclavas, goggles, gas masks, and ballistic masks.
-Cosmetics inspired by real-world military equipment and special operations units.
-Separate customization for NATO and PAX, including faction-specific patches, parachutes, and other branded cosmetics. It doesn't really make sense for PAX soldiers to be using NATO patches and vice versa.
-More faction identity overall, making each side feel visually distinct.
-More player customization options, whether through character customization similar to BFV, the ability to mix and match gear pieces, or at least options to change character voices and appearances.
I also want to emphasize that many of the actual character models and gear designs are already very good. In my opinion, the issue is often the execution. Sometimes the camouflage patterns, color palettes, or certain design choices feel out of place and clash with the grounded military aesthetic that Battlefield is known for. A lot of these skins could feel significantly more authentic with just a few adjustments to their colors and materials.
Sets like Strix Raiders show that grounded skins can still look cool, unique, and highly desirable. Personally, I'd be much more willing to spend money on cosmetics that stay true to Battlefield's military identity, and I believe many other players feel the same way.
This isn't meant as criticism of the current direction, just feedback from a player who loves the game and wants to see it continue growing. Hopefully someone at Battlefield Studios gets a chance to see it.
