Crossplay experiment has failed

I have little more to say than that the entire concept of crossplay in BF6 is nothing but a failed experiment:

  •  The consoles desynch the servers like nothing else. I am talking about at least 300ms desynch on average.... fun when there are guns that kill you in half that time....
  • the aimassist and recoil reduction makes me wish I could install the same software on my mouse.... but that would get me banned for cheating.... funny how that works
  • PC doesn't even get an option to turn it off because **bleep** them i guess....
  • the netcode is already struggling and then you add the ancient tech of PS5 or xBox ontop and you get your good old insta death super bullets
  • I am also pretty much convicned that a lot of the audio issues stem from consoles desynching constantly...

TLDR: turn crossplay off, at this point no one is happy anymore and you clearly lack the coding skills to make it work... just end this failed experiment already

The vast majority of Console players are on Wi-Fi. Same way the vast majority of PC players are on a "hard line". while it may not be the "console" that is at fault but the slow wi-fi it's on, as most home wi-fi isn't even wi-fi 6. if you are lucky/upgraded in the last 5 years you might have 6 at home, but most don't.

Like most PC's or atleast how I have all my gaming stuff set up.. are usually right next to the home's main router. Because players want the lowest latency possible for competitive shooters and faster download speeds for massive games, a huge number of console gamers choose to run a direct Ethernet cable. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Pretty much all Game developers, Esports organizations & competitive leagues all recommend wired connections aswell.

Wi-Fi 6 Speed Doesn't Matter, Wired Connections Can Still Lag  and Online gaming uses a microscopic amount of bandwidth usually under 1 Mbps, You do not need the massive download speeds of Wi-Fi 6 to game smoothly even a 15-year old router can handle that tiny data load easily.

Even if you could play in a 100% PC-only lobby where every single player is hardwired, desync and lag will still happen. An Ethernet cable only stabilizes your local network. Once that data hits the router, a bad ISP, regional node congestion, server-side issues, or background PC apps choking your bandwidth will cause the exact same packet loss

Battlefield 6 servers run at a 60Hz tick rate, meaning the server only updates the game state 60 times per second (once every 16.6 milliseconds). No matter how fast a Wi-Fi 6 router is, it physically cannot receive game updates faster than the server is willing to generate them. Wi-Fi 6 Can't Fix a Choking Server.

Missed Ticks = Super Bullets, When a server gets overloaded by players, bullets, explosives and heavy destruction, it cannot maintain that 60Hz rate. The server drops ticks, clumps the delayed damage together, and unloads it all on you in the next successful tick. That is what causes instant-death "super bullets" and a faster router does absolutely nothing to prevent it.

And also almost every modern mid-range to high-end PC motherboard has high-speed Wi-Fi built directly in. Manufacturers wouldn't spend the money to make it standard if millions of desktop gamers weren't actively using it.

  • Pcs are  allready dominaites every lobby without even trying and you want more buffs whats next you want instant kill for just looking at the enemy less the 1 secound lol

  • First, i do Agree it would be nice to have a crossplay toggle on PC stupid there isn't, But everytime this comes up everyone always try's to blame consoles, consoles are not what they were  10-15 yrs ago.

Consoles don't desync servers, the servers are authoritative. The 300ms delay that you say you see and instant deaths are caused by standard lag compensation and packet loss (usually from players on weak Wi-Fi) not a lack of console processing power.

Audio Issues Missing sounds are caused by data packets dropping over a weak network connection, or just straight up bugged like it sometimes completely dies when you enter a menu.
