Re: FEEDBACK — Update 1.4.2.0 & Mobile Anti-Air Vehicle
Dear DICE Team,
I would like to report a recurring and frustrating issue with the Mobile Anti-Air lock-on missiles that significantly hinders effectiveness against helicopters and jets.
🐛 The Issue:
When I successfully lock onto a helicopter or jet that is clearly above me and fire the missile, in many cases the missile does not climb toward the target — it dives downward and crashes into the ground, terrain, or trees, even though the lock was solid and the aircraft was visible and within range. It appears the initial trajectory is wrong, or the flight path calculation is sending the missile toward the surface instead of upward toward the airborne target.
⚠️ Why this matters:
- ✅ Lock-on works correctly
- ✅ Target is visibly above and within engagement range
- ❌ Missile is wasted impacting the ground through no fault of aim or player error
- ❌ Repeatedly loses damage, ammunition, and kill opportunities
- ❌ This happens consistently, not just occasionally
💡 Suggestion:
- Please review the initial flight trajectory of lock-on missiles so they consistently climb toward airborne targets rather than dip toward the ground
- Check the interception calculation to ensure it correctly distinguishes between an aircraft and terrain elevation
- Test the behavior at different elevation angles and altitudes
I have video footage showing this — the missile launches, should climb, but instead descends into the ground while the target remains airborne. This makes an already challenging vehicle even harder to use effectively.
Thank you for your time and attention! 🙏💙
