I don't think there are more cheaters recently, but I think that regular players are leaving the game and this makes it more likely to actually come across a cheater in the game.
I've seen hundreds of posts trying to explain how a free mode like redsuck would increase the rate of cheaters, but here we are. They get unlimited free tries to develop a cheat system that works. Javelin could be the most top tier anti-cheat on the planet, but if you give people unlimited free tries to beat it, they will succeed.
We need a real AI anti cheat that can consolidate actual image data, model data (where the player is aiming on the enemy) and so many other factors in MOMENTS compared to the current anticheat that tries to detect system modification (because kernel level access stops all the cheaters) and can catch insanely obvious cheaters in real time. People that can avoid this are practically invisible to Javelin though. An AI could see in real time "Oh, dang, this guy fired 40 rounds and his scope never rose one pixel. And has 100% headshots over 100m with no scope. Bet I know why!"
