"Game of the year"

I have an entire essay I would write, full of complaints and feedback.  Instead of that, I'll just say this.

BF6 is not GOTY material.  You sold so many copies because people want BF3 and BF4.  You sold a game that looked like those beloved giants, and by the time people saw BF6 for what it was it was too late.

Just look at the steam player counts.  The game by plenty of metrics could be considered dead.  All that's keeping it afloat is F2P players.

So no, this isn't GOTY.  Maybe you could fix all the problems, and we could call it Comeback of the year.  But Game of the year like it actually did something right?  Nah.

Things started to go off the rails little by little around the time high-ping compensation was introduced.

If there were a category for competing on the number of bugs and the length of time they persisted without being fixed, it would undoubtedly be a masterpiece worthy of a vote.

  • Ohhhhh man you hit this right on the head we absolutely wanted bf3 and bf4 kinda game instead we got some cod copied bs 🤣 man i could make a list to i absolutely love the battlefield franchise… and man yeah there have been some great improvements but the core of this game is absolutely smashed. And they are losing their core fans base… im more disappointed in this game than 2042 tbh better game but way more disappointment … they have abandoned their core fans base

  • Don't worry, in today's "mentally twisted" world, slapping the "GOTY" sticker on the game (which they themselves admitted) is just one more scam that EA committed with this title - doing everything to make more money on a production that has not technically left the BETA zone yet.

A year has passed since the launch, and we are still grappling with the same issues that plagued the game from the start. People are walking away because they see no hope for a better future—just more microtransactions, more colorful character skins, more restrictions, server problems, less content (with game modes disappearing), a limited Portal mode (which fails to deliver on the developers' promises), and a lack of PvE modes for casual fun etc. Developers continue to push the Battle Royale mode—which hardly anyone plays—in an attempt to milk even more money from players.

These are the hard, undeniable facts.

The developers don't listen to players at all; they disregard their fans and those who have supported them from the very beginning—the consequences of which will become painfully apparent down the line. It’s hard to watch EA ruin yet another game series for stupid reasons.

walas85 I applaud your detailed reply.

But, I think we all know that this will not get fixed, the **bleep** in charge of this clusterflick really don't care.

If they did care, then we would have had these items fixed, and yes, I am talking about the ones identified by you and many, many others that have existed since release.

The only reason I play this rubbish is because I paid for it and can't get a refund. I didn't refund the hard copy I have immediately because they said they were going to fix the issues?

A company that wilfully LIES to its consumer base is a company I will not give any more money to.

We definitely need better consumer protection when it comes to the gaming industry.
