Overall I'm enjoying Battlefield 6, but I'm curious what everyone thinks about the audio. Do footsteps, gunfire, and directional sound feel balanced to you, or are there areas that could be improved?
I'd like to hear both positive feedback and constructive criticism.
I'm repeating myself a bit, but:
I do think it's much better than at release. I keep hearing it was insanely good in 2042 but I never played that, so I can't compare.
However, for me the improvements came once I realized my 3D sound was not actually enabled. On PC, you can select the option, it's not greyed out or anything, but that does not mean it is working. You have to check the top right text box for that, and you may need to change the sample rate in Windows. It's the same if you want to use 5.1 or 7.1.
I assume this is a PC-only thing, but I can't help but wonder how many people still complain about the poor sound and haven't checked their settings. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm betting many people haven't noticed their 3D sound actually defaults to basic stereo.
