There's no friendly fire in the beta. I imagine that Portal can be used to set things up like this when the game is released, assuming that there isn't a dedicated hardore mode.
In Battlefield 2042’s Portal mode, custom hardcore servers (with friendly fire, adjusted damage, or no HUD) grant little to no XP or weapon progression—unless they’re bot-free or officially curated by DICE. This forces players to choose between authentic gameplay and unlocks, pushing many hardcore fans to quit.
Have Dice told anything, that they want change it? For me make it no sense to start an Portalmode, with FF, low Hud, HC Settings, and then can not enable Weapons, Tools...
Anybody who have more information about it?

They touched on Portal during the multiplayer reveal, so you might want to check out that video on Youtube. Apparently, the XP and progression is meant to be much more lenient than in BF2042. I've not heard anything outside of that though, I'm afraid.
