My sincere advice

Removing K/D from the main scoreboard would probably help encourage players to focus more on score.

You're right, that's part of the reason;

The main reason is that the actual ratio of players on both sides is usually 1:2.

I don't understand why they can't even balance the number of human players on both sides in a new game??????????

I don't think anything will be done: they've reduced the numbers of modes to fill in other matches, so I don't expect them to further split the player base to implement any sort of SBMM. 

But man, it's sorely needed. The number of completely unbalanced matches is infuriating, and all it takes is a few "aces" in the opposing team to make my experience miserable. Heck, I find Siege of Cairo unplayable these days: I love that map to bits, but at least in Escalation, it's been attracting a lot of try-hards. I play a couple of minutes, assess I'm most definitely at that level, and so I quit. 

Is it a skill issue? YES, YES, IT ABSOLUTELY IS. But while I don't put my ego where my KDR is, it's not fun to get erased again and again. I don't want to work at getting better, I just want to enjoy myself a bit, and it'd be great if the game would let me play with other people of my level. 

The imbalanced rounds are mostly attributed to players not playing the objective, instead just focusing on K/D.
