Overall Feedback
This game is fun 50% of the time and bonked the other 50% of the time.
Between hit registration, consistent network connection issues, and weird damage models, this game seems like it forces you into meta guns to stand a chance.
The HE rounds from GLs, and Shoulder-fired damage is so bad. You have to make a direct hit on the person to get a kill. So many times I have placed an HE round between their feet, and they get killed. There should be a 1-2 foot radius where they die. I want to be able to place a round to kill someone behind cover. In fact, I just played tonight, shot an aim-guided missile from an ISV into a wall that was a foot away from a prone person who had already been damaged, and the rocket did not kill them.
Sidearms are so bad. 5-6 hits to kill someone is wild. I have so many times shot people in the back with 4-6 shots, only for them to turn on me and kill me.
Just make 80% of the roofs OTB in the New York maps. Everyone hates it except the bums who go up there to grief.
This game broke breakthrough. Reducing the player count, making the maps smaller, taking away almost all the ability to flank the objective due to map size, and now you are giving the attackers more tanks? It's virtually impossible to remove one tank while two or more engineers are repairing it.
This is supposed to be a game of large-scale combat. There are two modes (conquest and Escalation) that are large-scale combat. Everything else feels like Call of Duty. Even on the large modes and the "large" maps, you can still be spawn camped. I know the leads came from COD, but this is not supposed to be COD. The game kinda got saved by the fact that this year's COD is so far gone.
Taking down air, I have another post on this but it's **bleep** near impossible from the ground.
The game right now is in danger of flaming out if Dice doesn't bring this back to the way Battlefield was. I don't want to see another battlefield game that takes four years to become what everyone in the community wants.
Finally, REDSEC sucks, just stop.
