No, you don't have to pay more for multiplayer.
Wrong! You’ll need a (paid) PlayStation Plus subscription to play BF6 multiplayer. I guess that’s whatMindedbasher is referring to.
Playstation Plus requirement was not around at the time he played BF4, but unfortunately it’s necessary for most multiplayer games nowadays.

Doesn't everyone on xbox and playstation already know that online capability costs extra? That's not really a function of the game.

You and I know online gaming cost extra, however someone that hasn’t been gaming in over ten years might not know this.
