Please check this thread on X for answers to this particular question. They mention they aren't going to do it because "It doesn't fit the pacing of the game".
I don't like the Twitter response. BFV was still a really well paced game. We can easily have a face past arcadey feel with a subset of people using a manual lean function to check corners and have different tactical options. A lean doesn't immediately turn the game into a slow paced mil-sim. And there are countless ways to tune the lean mechanic to make it so it can't be spammed. I feel like such a badass soldier in an epic conflict until I have to smush my nose against a wall just to have the option to peak. Fix it DICE. It's not a big deal to add it in.
