Re: Reverse the XP Changes to PORTAL | Why are we repeating 2042's mistakes AGAIN
You go to the hospital for a headache, hoping to find the cause. The doctor tells you the solution is simple: just chop off your head, and you'll never have a headache again. That's what DICE is doing NOW. The massive XP farms in Portal have significantly impacted players who want to experience custom games, so DICE has announced that they will no longer be earning weapon XP, assigned challenges, or daily events in Portal.
But doesn't DICE know why there are so many XP farms in Portal? Why would players spend hours killing bots every day instead of playing multiplayer?
They know, but they do it anyway. Because it's too hard for them to admit their design failures in this game—the ridiculous weapon attachment unlocking requirements, the extremely complex and confusing assignment challenges, etc.—are the worst parts of this game.
I originally planned to buy the season pass, but judging by the recent game updates, DICE seems to be trying to force players to follow its instructions. Based on my nearly 20 years of gaming experience, when developers have this kind of idea, the results are always disastrous, and most of the time it directly destroys the entire game ecosystem. So I am no longer optimistic about the future of this game, and I have decided to save the money to buy more gifts for my family.
