Re: Security Requirements on BF6 on PCs!

I am wondering why I need a third-party company to install a kernel-level application just to play a game.

Do I receive compensation if my system is hacked and unauthorized access is granted?

Another thing. What is different about BF6 from BF2042 ?

Regards

It’s the core function of the Javelin anti-cheat… and it’s not a new approach to anti-cheat as several other games use similar technology.

I would doubt you receive any compensation.  For what it’s worth, the Javelin system is session-based on its interactions with the virtualized runtime… which greatly increases the difficulty of compromise.

Several differences between the two games, mostly positive in the case of BF6, but also much to still improve in my opinion.

Hope that helps!  See you on the Battlefield!

Most or maybe even every modern anti-cheat solution is kernel-level. If you are playing MMOs or multiplayer games, it's very likely you have or had some of it installed already (like Easy Anti-Cheat, BattlEye, etc.).

Yeah, that’s right.  I think FACEIT is popular with competitive CS as well… so it’s not going away.

EA_Leeuw explains why, in this thread.
What is EA and Battlefield going to do about cheating? | EA Forums - 12407129

It's the cheaters themselves who have pushed it this far, as the cheats run at kernel-level too, then the only possibility to even have a chance of catching them, is to use kernel-level AC.

When you've all been pushed to find yourself in this situation, whose so-called "root-kit" is more to trust, the hacker's or a serious company's.

The hacker I would say may have to compromise their system to cheat using a root-kit. That does not mean I have to or want to.

Also I the serious company you are talking about. Is facing criticism over their data practises.

have had two major data breached over the last 5 years.

Also EA is know for the microtransaction and installing a root-kit is a very good way of profiling user based on data use because a root-kit can also monitor all your web usages, back usage etc.

So how do I "Trust" such a company.

Can they make the javelin code open source for instance.

Maybe bring back managed private servers or allow us to host servers locally would also discourage hackers. but it was also removed due to that it was difficult to monetize.
