** Comprehensive Player Feedback: REDSEC Balance, New Weapons, Clan System, Maps & Quality-of-Life Improvements for Battlefield 6 **
Hello DICE/EA team and fellow players,
I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 6, especially REDSEC mode, and I really like the direction it's going. Most of the recent adjustments feel good, but there are some important tweaks needed for better balance and fun, plus a few bigger features that would take the game to the next level. Here's my detailed feedback and suggestions:
-> REDSEC Mode Adjustments (Core Balance)
- *Gas Attack: Make it apply a gradual HP drain over time (for example, you gain recovery points but lose a small amount continuously) in addition to its current effects. This turns it into proper area denial without feeling like an instant death zone.
- Keep air attacks rare across solo, duos, and squads — their scarcity makes them exciting when they happen.
- Keep redeploys available in duos and squads.
- For solo mode: Cap matches at 70 players max (starting around 50) to improve performance and match quality.
- *Fire Damage: Keep fire lethal up to at least 20 meters away, with damage increasing the closer you get (deadly at ~1 meter).
- *Terminators (Bots): Keep them primarily close-range threats (strongest at 10-15 meters) to create tense, unexpected encounters that reward quick reactions and good aim. Slightly improve their accuracy/threat up to 50 meters so they remain dangerous but not frustrating at long range. This will benefit other modes too
- *Solo Vehicle Balance: Reduce tank and truck-container availability by 30-50% across the map. Lower helicopter spawn rate by ~20%. Add back at least 10% more scattered MRAPs to give infantry better options without vehicle spam.
- Reduce shell drop on MBTs and APCs so tanks feel more usable and fun at mid-range.
- Increase MANPAD missile speed by 10-20% — right now it's too hard (sometimes impossible) to hit jets before they pop decoys. This will benefit other modes too
These changes would make REDSEC feel more fair and skill-based while keeping the chaotic, high-stakes atmosphere that makes it unique.
* Critical Fixes
- Investigate and fix random game shutdowns/crashes that happen mid-match or during loading screens. This affects many players (including myself) and doesn't seem tied to hardware — it's likely a stability or file integrity issue.
- Bring back the "Initiation Battle Royale" mode. It disappeared for some players and was a fun, rare experience.
* Weapons & Attachments
Add these weapons (with careful balancing):
- Desert Eagle .50 (high power similar to the M44 but with ~50% higher rate of fire)
- MK23 pistol
- Barrett M82A1/M107 anti-materiel rifle
- M202 FLASH launcher
As balanced alternatives or additions:
- M110 sniper rifle with stats similar to the SVK-8.6 but ~20% higher rate of fire.
- VSS silenced automatic sniper (fully automatic as in real life) with damage close to the LMR27 and ~10% higher rate of fire.
- G3 battle rifle with 33 damage and 670 RPM.
**Attachments:** Reduce the point cost of attachments by 15-25% (starting conservatively). Some currently require 35-40 points, which makes full customization feel too restrictive and quickly eats into the 100-point budget.
* New Map Idea – Small-Scale PvP
Create a dedicated 12v12 Team Deathmatch map: a giant industrial hangar inspired by Redline Storage's massive scale mixed with the classic Warface Hangar vibe. Fill it with containers that players can hide in or behind, where walls can be pierced/destroyed by bullets and explosives. This would give intense, vertical, close-to-mid range fights perfect for quick sessions.
* Clan System
Introduce an in-game clan system (max 30 players per clan) with these features:
- Clan-only battles (e.g., 8v8 matches restricted to clan members) with open voice chat for all participants in the match.
- Benefits for clan members playing together (duos/trios/squads in the same match or mode): faster attachment unlock/progression speed.
- Dedicated smaller clan maps or modes.
- Public clan ranking leaderboard visible to everyone, showing wins/losses, clan K/D, most successful maps, etc.
This would greatly improve long-term player retention and community building — something Battlefield has been missing for years.
* Additional Features That Would Be Awesome
**Dynamic World Events** (expanding beyond gas and air strikes):
- Random supply plane crashes that drop rare weapons/vehicles in a marked zone, creating natural hotspots and exciting fights.
- “EMP Storm” events that last ~90 seconds: disables minimap, vehicle lock-ons, and makes night-vision flicker — forcing players to adapt on the fly.
**Squad Command Wheel + Improved Pings:**
- Contextual pings such as “Need medic here”, “Place turret”, “Suppress this window”, “Vehicle incoming”.
- Squad leaders can mark an “objective of the minute” that gives bonus XP if the whole squad pushes it.
**Weapon Proficiency System:**
- Every gun has 3 hidden mastery levels unlocked simply by using it a lot (separate from attachments).
- Level 3 grants small, unique bonuses (e.g., G3 gets –5% recoil after 20 kills in a match; VSS gets even quieter ADS sound). This rewards players who main specific weapons without any pay-to-win elements.
**Private Matches + Custom Rules Browser:**
- Allow custom games like 12v12 hangar-only, no vehicles, night mode, friendly fire on, etc.
- This would make clan tournaments easy and automatic.
**Anti-Cheat & Reporting Overhaul:**
- When a player is reported, provide an instant replay killcam from the suspected cheater’s POV (similar to Valorant).
- Add a spectator mode so clan admins can watch their own members if cheating is suspected.
**Map Voting + Weekly Rotation:**
- At the end of a match, let players vote for the next map, with weighted preference toward smaller maps like the proposed hangar.
- Every week, bring back one modernized classic map (e.g., updated Operation Locker or Shanghai) for nostalgia and variety.
**Environmental Gadgets:**
- “Decoy Drone” that players can deploy — it mimics footsteps and radar signature to confuse enemies.
These additions would add depth, replayability, and fairness while making Battlefield 6 feel more alive and community-driven.
Overall, implementing these (starting with stability fixes, REDSEC balance, and the clan system) would make a huge positive impact. The game already has great potential — these changes could help it become the best Battlefield in years.
What do you guys think? Devs, any of these on the 2026 roadmap?
