Re: Security Requirements on BF6 on PCs!

Hello, im not against secure boot or anything before people throw accusations around.  so my main question is if i enable secure boot can i still use my pc like i always do. for example use recording software and all that.  after watching alot of videos i found out my OS drive is GPT and my HDD drive is MBR ( only using hdd for movies/videos recorded and music )  does this mean if i enable secure boot i wont be able to use my HDD since its mbr. im sorry for asking the obvious here but i rather be sure.

also 1 more thing i read alot of people saying with own build pc's they get blackscreened and soft locked after turning on secure boot. i already disabled bitlocker on the ssd. im just afraid of messing something up.   just incase its needed my pc specs are

CPU ryzen 7 5700x3d

GPU radeon rx 7700XT

2x 16x RAM 3200 mhz

windows 10 64bit

OS drive nvme SSD

storage drive  HDD

also sorry if its in the wrong topic

found a fix. the amount of comments saying they get blackscreened/boot loop is not worth it for me. gl hf gaming gamers

Secure Boot really doesnt impact anything on a users' day to day usage. Black screens and boot loops are a result of something going wrong in the process. Improperly set up drives, non updated BIOS, or forgetting to do a few tweaks like resetting factory keys.

Your HDD would be fine btw it only impacts the OS drive and even then you shouldnt notice a change.

What it DOES do is just effectively lock things up when the OS boots, hence the name, so that malware or in this case cheats dont hide before the OS can be fully set and defending itself. That's it. No performance hits, no conflicts. The only REAL application that could be hurt is if you are a Linux user that dual boots with Windows but that is an incredibly small fringe that could likely be a rounding error in the grand scheme of things.

Ngl you're taking feedback from people who only had to do this a week ago and have no real idea of what they're talking about. Also good luck as future games such as the next CoD will start requiring this feature so like you really should consider the process.

appriciate the reply back. im just to afraid to mess something up honestly xD   from what i understood secure boot only boots windows applications and nothing else. ( probally because english is not my first language ) so i was kinda scared it would never boot the adrenaline software from radeon. i have no intergrated graphics card so that was kinda worrying. maybe its not legally allowed but would prefer if battlefield could set it for us but most likely cant due to legal reasons :/     i guess ill bite the bullet and turn it on.  already cancelled the refund so if it works i still have it available.  also im not into COD i enjoyed playing mw2/3 and black ops 2 but stopped after that.   always prefered battlefield.    im just coping and pretend the people saying the blackscreens/ bios loops are cheaters getting mad

anyways thanks for the reply. ill follow what i always say in albion online ''no fear full send it'' guess ill do the same. will enable secure boot. already cancelled the refund.  if i dont reply my pc deded. if i reply i will thank you once again <3

So it only boots that stuff at that specific point. Adrenaline, drivers, etc should all be good as many of em boot after OS does, and core stuff would likely be signed and legit. If you have issues I'm down to help you can always use your phone's internet browser to get onto the forums to reach out for aid. Just follow the guides that are nice and aplenty (and should have a good number in your language) and if something goes wrong dont worry, it just means we need to take a few extra steps to double check the work. I got faith in you though youre asking questions and are clearly willing to learn and push through this.

Good luck and godspeed man o7.
