Re: Give PC Players The Ability To Disable Crossplay

Nobody on PC wants to play with a bunch of aim assisted players on console that is basically aimbot, the game is already dying because of your poor choices.

This game is an utter piece of ****. Just deleted it. It's like a mentally **bleep** console slop game for kiddies in which the only thing you need to do to get kills is aim down a hallway with an auto-aim controller and press the fire button. Not only a disgrace to Battlefield, but a Disgrace to the First Person Shooter Genre which is now effectively dead.

Besides the fact that you can use a controller on PC which makes the whole PC versus consoles aim assist argument invalid:

I have read a lot of speculation that PC numbers aren't as high as console numbers, so they have been afraid from the start that matchmaking would be hurt too much for PC players if they didn't have console players to matchmake with. You could argue that PC player numbers have declined due to not giving it as an option, but you could also argue that EA predicted that PC players would decline regardless, based on past data, to say that it was never going to be a good option.  This is probably especially true in some regions versus others.

It is a shame that they didn't at least give it as an option, so that PC players could find out for themselves if it turned out to be a real problem that would cause them to turn crossplay back on anyway, rather than being a decision forced upon them by EA that caused PC players to be resentful of. At the same time, EA probably never wants to respond directly to the discussion because stating publicly that they don't think they have enough PC sales, isn't something you want to say in front of shareholders, and giving a method of otherwise finding that out through observation may not be good for EA either.
