Support should not have the medic loadout it should always be the secondary Assault loadout. I have been a support player for 20+ years and hate and having to do the medics job for them, it also takes away a squad role away from assault. (I also think it was only given to support because we are the only ones who threw crates down in other Battlefields 🤣). Suppression IS a large part of being a support player it not just wasting bullets, if you know how to use the mechanic effectively just like any role has its finer points of skill of which there is the option to learn to become more effective as a squad player.
Sorry, I just don't believe suppression has ever been useful in a Battlefield game.
I use it all the time as it works for the way my squad moves, on attack I suppress to make a corridor for the assault to move up, also gives a buffer for the engies or recon to do their things, I will stop and suppress at choke points on the way to stop any rear attack to the squad and just before we take a point I will suppress the area to flush out any campers, on defence I hold the line. it is very useful, to use it or not is personal prefrence.
What you're describing is not the Battlefield mechanic, but the actual act of just laying down fire. You're essentially just giving reasons as to why the mechanic itself is unnecessary.
Taken from BF6 wiki ......Suppression is the act of forcing an enemy to break off an attack by using high volumes of gunfire. When the enemy is concerned mainly with their own survival, their combat effectiveness and morale is greatly reduced. Suppression can be used to fix enemies while nearby teammates go around the side flanking them. In terms of the Four Fs doctrine, this is the second "F" (Find, Fix, Flank, and Finish).
Says it right there, although the example slightly differs to mine as I said it is a very useful mechanic, you sound like someone who is fixated on kd ratio and stats rather than being a squad/team player or you just do not like being suppressed fair enough but no need to remove it, even if they did remove it I would still use it as how can you stop a player applying supressing fire? remove full auto from lmg's?🤣
