Suppression ?
When is suppression getting added to the game surely it has to be coming the game feels a bit off without it?
Random inspiration mid-match — BF6 threat-fire suppression (near-miss resets regen / assists) is clean and I don’t want old blur-or-spread back, but it lacks field denial feel: you don’t feel pinned, just delayed-heal.
Modern take: don’t touch aim or screens — let sustained auto fire kick up environmental dust/cordite off the bullet lane. ARs + carbines throw thin translucent dust that barely cuts vision if you strafe out of the beaten zone; LMG lanes build thick haze that occludes IDs past ~35 m but not close ADS. Dust bonds to the fire lane / cover LOS, fades in ~0.4 s after you break the cone — so anchors (incl. long-range campers) eat it, rushers slip it. Only AR/carbine/LMG lay it; DMRs, marksman, snipers, pistols don’t.
One hard rule: this lane dust is its own occlusion layer, never folded into VL-7 psychoactive haze — VL-7 is a status-blind for gas modes , suppression dust is cover-fire dirt; stacking them would hard-blind counterplay. Keeps BF6’s no-aim-penalty line, adds the pinned-down weight, fixes “no one can punish hold-angles” without replaying old suppression.
Just a player idea, not a full doc — curious if DICE prototyped lane-dust before going pure regen-delay.
