I keep seeing the reason for the Portal xp being removed is too many bot farming servers.
Why is it bad to farm bots for attachments, I don't understand.
People are getting unlocks faster? So. Why does anyone care.
People have higher K/D's on their profile? So. Why does anyone care? Stop bots from counting as kills, easy fix.
There is obviously a reason people are bot farming, and THAT seems to be the issue: Insanely long grind to unlock attachments for each weapon, which is how you build guns for competitive play.
Remove the need for bot farming, and you significantly reduce the server issue.
Just removing the bot farms will significantly reduce your player base.
for me i love playing vs bots, not all bots, but matches that are half and half, half players half bots.
these matches offer a great dynamic, player vs player fights are hard faught and can often be intense.
but then their are the bots cannon fodder, that run in with you and get gunned down quickly.
they act as both cover for your entry and also a quick kill to get your blood flowing.
its this mix of hard and easy kills that make matches great,
and because of bots existing you arnt dunking on noobs or casuals as bots dont care if they are instant killed.
you arent harming anyone playing these matches and these are the matches i love.
i think limited matches to no more then 1v3 ratio would be fair, so if you are solo you will only have 3 bots in your match.
you have 4 people you will only have 12 bots, this way solo farming would be reduced,
also adding official half bot half player servers would also help as i loved Initiation Breakthrough,
but then suddenly it disappeared when i hit level 20, i think they should bring it back and add other versions too,
Initiation Conquest, Initiation Squad Deathmatch, ect.
